From detox and inpatient rehabilitation, to outpatient treatment and sober living recovery homes, we provide those battling addiction with the roadmaps towards healing.
We are licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services & Supports and accredited by the Joint Commission.
MAIN FUNCTION:
- To provide pastoral counseling to clients and families; to integrate programmatically the spiritual aspects of the Alcoholic Anonymous Twelve Step Program.
- User role(s) information systems access as assigned, where applicable
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual and group pastoral counseling to clients and family members.
- Deliver didactic presentations and lead discussions and workshops on spiritual aspects of the program.
- Enter progress notes and other clinical documentation as needed into the EMR.
- Serve as liaison to area clergy in the community.
- Provide religious services when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of addiction/recovery
- Counseling skills
- Presentation skills
- Proficient in computer usage including EMR System, Microsoft Outlook and other information systems.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferably a Master of Divinity or equivalent training, or Master’s Degree in related human resource field with a minimum of one-year experience in the chemical dependency field. Strong background and knowledge of self-help fellowships and spiritual aspects of recovery a must. The Pastoral Care Counselor must be an ordained priest, minister, or professionally trained person in pastoral care field.

- While performing this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- This is a largely sedentary role and involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required occasionally.
- The employee must have the ability to use a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, copier, fax machine, scanner and telephone.
