Description
Position will be 10-15 hours per week.
Two shifts will be during the day (ex 8:30m-12:30pm or 10am-2pm) and one shift will be evening hours 4pm-8pm.
$48 - $50 per hour
MAIN FUNCTION:
- To assist in maintaining a highest quality of care to all patients.
- To act as health coordinator.
- User role(s) information systems access as assigned, where applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Document nursing care in client’s EMR.
- Provide Nursing Assessment and consultation to patients.
- Maintain records of infection control matters for patients and staff.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Track medications/solutions stored at the facility, including destruction/expiration.
- Educate patients on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, STDs, and other communicable diseases.
- Follow universal precautions and infection control measures.
- Supervise same-sex urine sample collection for toxicology.
- Administer breathalyzer and alcohol swabs.
- Attend meetings and in-service lectures.
- Inform office manager of office and medical supply needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform Admission Nursing Assessment and make appropriate nursing diagnoses.
- Assess client’s psychiatric history and current status.
- Administer medications as ordered (MAT programs), and understand basic pharmacology and PPD testing.
- Proficient in basic nursing skills, including ECG and blood pressure measurement.
- Age-specific clinical skills for adolescent and geriatric clients.
- Proficient in computer usage, including EMR, Microsoft Outlook, and other systems.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure, CPR certification.
