MAIN FUNCTION:                                   
-Primary concern is the dishwashing area.  The sanitary condition of the area as well as maintaining said areas with appropriate supplies (soap rinse, etc.) 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-To maintain dishwashing temperature chart on a daily basis.  Report any malfunction to Director of Nutrition Services.
-Maintain high standards of cleanliness and order in dishwashing area and kitchen area.
-Rinsing, washing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other equipment.
-Putting away said items once cleaned in appropriate storage space/area.
-Sweeping/mopping of floors after each meal.  Also, thoroughly cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers as requested.
-Cleans loading area, storage areas and general kitchen areas including floors, lights, windows, walls, garbage cans, etc.  Wash and scrubbing as required.
-Unload delivery trucks and store deliveries in appropriate storage areas.
-Brings food and other supplies to preparation and serving areas as directed.
-Responsible for closing kitchen at end of day.  Closing windows, locking of doors, locking of refrigerators, shutting off lights and taking out garbage.   Securing area for the night.
-Performs any tasks asked or required of them by the Head Cook or Director of Nutrition Services.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

 COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
-Proficient in basic dishwashing skills such as pot and pan cleaning, loading and unloading dish machine.
-Knowledge of correct use of cleaning product.
-Knowledge of precise food storage procedures.
-Accomplishes daily tasks efficiently
-Ability to assess any problems with dish machine and reports malfunctions to the Head Cook or Director of Nutrition Services.
-Good Communication Skills
 
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
-High School Diploma or Equivalent.
-Must be able to read, write and speak English
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those functions that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, bend, push, pull, lift, kneel, reach, stoop, and climb stairs.   This position is very active and requires standing and walking all day.
The employee is frequently required to use hands to grasp or feel and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned and makes general observations.
